Turkish names and the meaning behind them

Behind these beautiful Turkish first names there often hides an exciting meaning.

The Name Isra, occasionally spelt Israa, means ‘one who travels by night’.  

Elif means “the slender”, it’s derived from the first letter of the Arabic alphabet, which has a very slender shape. In Turkey there’s a flower called Elif.
